Curation of 6 podcasts to challenge your mindset at work
Podcasts recommendations to stay up to date and nurture your reflexion about growth, tech & business.
Given the choice between taking online courses or listening to experienced professionals, I definitely go with the second choice. This is an excellent way to be inspired and get creativy & energy to try out new things in your day-to-day job. By listening to podcasts, you have the opportunity to listen to top leaders in their field. Opportunity you may not have in your everyday life. Podcast hosts often share the name of the next guest on Twitter so it's also a great opportunity to ask questions and open up discussions & debates. The experience is more static than Clubhouse, but you can open the discussion at any time.
Here's a curation of podcasts I highly recommend; especially if for career path growth and learning about startups, product, business & tech.
Lenny's Podcast
Probably my favorite podcast! Published by Lenny Rachitsky, there is a new episode each week. You will learn tons of POV & actionable advices from world-class leaders.
The recent episode with Gustav Söderström Co-President & CPTO at Spotify is awesome; especially to get a POV on the current industry shift with AI.
Newcomer
Remember the recent SVB bankruptcy? I heard about it thanks to a tweet from Eric Newcomer. If you want to get Silicon Valley news about startups & VC before it hits the headlines, this is the best place to go with. It's also, in my opinion, the best example of independent journalism on Substack (& a great example of journalism you want to pay for).
The Twenty Minutes VC
The story behind Harry Stebbings's 20 Minutes VC itself is fascinating! You can read the whole story on Product Hunt. Format is long so you need to make room to listen to it but it's worth every minute of it!
Acquired
I often ask myself how today's companies grew in the first place. This podcast tend to answer this type of questions by interviewing founders and asking questions about their playbook; super interesting! The format is lengthy but worth every minute of it! Hosts are Benjamin Gilbert & David Rosenthal.
Think Fast, Talk Smart
I used to listen to TED talks for help on communication techniques and came across Matt Abrahams's podcast. Format is short and the content straight to the point; perfect to get communication tips you can easily translate in your day-to-day job.
How I grew this
The format is quite short so it's easy to listen to these episodes with Mada Seghete as the host. A very easy way to get actionable advices about growth marketing from a nice diversity of startups & companies we don't necessarily hear often about.
