Merci Larry: what to expect in 2025?
Well, it depends.
Happy new year everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this.
I started Merci Larry in 2018 and shared lots of experiments around AI (I'm proud to say it was way before the topic got trendy) and data analysis. Over time, as I advanced in my career and shifted away from my initial specialty (SEO 👋), I stopped sharing that kind of stuff. That cut down my traffic by 80%.
Instead, I began sharing broader experiments and learnings as well as reflections on my career path. This particularly doesn't drive organic traffic and knowing I stopped promoting new articles on social media, I now rely entirely on my subscribers base. If you enjoy what you read, share it! 😏
I want Merci Larry to be a space to share learnings and start discussions with peers so I opened the comments section. I know this is a bold move since blogging is dead but turns out that sometimes, what’s old becomes new again. 🤞
This year, I plan to share as many transparent learnings as my company allows, along with reflections on my role as a manager in a company that has grown from 25 to 80 employees in just two years.
Here's a sneak peek of content to expect this year:
- Manager in a scale-up: how to do things effectively?
- The messy middle of brand discovery
- Promoting your app with wireless network operators in the US: how many qualified installs to expect?
- What is a "good" KPI when launching a brand?
- What it's like to be part of a marketing leadership team
A bientôt,
Alice
